Top 10 Commercial :: GCSE Business Marketing Coursework
Top 10 Commercials Introduction We are said to spend two years of our lifetime watching commercials on television. If we spend that much time on watching something, that something better be very good and worthwhile. The video Top 10 Commercials ranks ten Americaââ¬â¢s favorite commercials of all time based on the commercialââ¬â¢s creativity, originality, inventiveness and style. Commercial clips are one genre of art form with a very different objective from any other artââ¬âto sell goods. These commercials are very successful achieving their AIDA, and they do so in various forms; the commercial clips amused me very much, and they just did what they are supposed to on me. Video Contentsââ¬â Categorizing the ranked commercials It was a very interesting learning experience to see how different commercials have different ways of achieving the same goal of ââ¬Å"sellingâ⬠ââ¬âsome of them spot their target market and focused only on the TM, where others may want to be ââ¬Å"catchyâ⬠to any potential viewers or to be a pure attention grabber. Commercials Focused on Their TM Bartles and Jaymes Wine Cooler commercial and Life Cereal commercial can be categorized in this type. Mr. Bartles speaks in Southern accent in a very calm tone and tells us how their wine cooler can be so soothing after working hard for a day with his non-speaking buddy Mr. Jaymes. This commercial intentionally picked these two Mid West guys to represent the product for its TM to relate to these menââ¬âvery genuine, somebody just like themselves. Life Cereal had overlooked who its real target market was until the company realized that the children were the ones who eat the product. Again, Life Cereal also used characters the TM children would relate to in the commercial, and let them speak their ââ¬Å"own languageâ⬠just like Bartles and Jaymes spoke good old American Southern Englishââ¬âââ¬Å"Mikey likes it!â⬠The Noxzema Shaving Cream can be also sorted into this category, as well as being a great attention-getter, because the woman is not ââ¬Å"seducingâ⬠the wives or the girlfriends who have to buy shaving cream for their men, but the user themselves. She wanted men in America to ââ¬Å"take it all offâ⬠, and the guys didnââ¬â¢t feel too bad about it either. ââ¬Å"Catchy, Catchy, What a Cutie Speedy is!â⬠Jingle, characters and animated icons and catch phrases make the commercials stick to consumersââ¬â¢ heads and they keep doing their jobs outside of their airtime.

Holly Bobo
It is not completely known that an actual crime has occurred, there hasnââ¬â¢t been enough evidence to prove that there has been a crime. I would want to interview her 25 years old brother, Clint. He reported seeing her being taken into the woods by a white male with all camouflage clothing. He said he only saw the back of this male and thought it was her boyfriend until he walked outside and saw some blood in front of their house. I would interview Clint because he was the last person that saw Holly and he also saw the man that kidnapped her. I would ask questions about the man who he saw take her. Also, about the path that this man took her. Finally, if he has noticed any weirdness from his sister the past couple of days or weeks. Then, I would want to interview Heather Sullivan, which is a woman in her town, she was approached by a man a couple of months before Hollyââ¬â¢s disappearance, but she was so startled that she dropped the glass lamp that she was holding. When she dropped it got her boyfriends attention and he scared the man off. I would like to get from her details about the man that tried to kidnap her and see if Clint and her details maybe match up. Finally I would like to interview Whitney Duncan, which is her cousin. I would want to find out how close they were and if they talked on a regular basis and if she noticed anything not normal with her. I would obtain criminal records from each of these people and see if theyââ¬â¢ve had any criminal history in the past that might pertain to this case. Also, I would want to obtain phone and text message records from each person. I would want to identify if there were any subspecies phone calls or text messages. I would want to collect the hair that was stuck to the piece of duck tape. This evidence could tell investigators who the hair belongs to and what part of the body it has came from. Also, I would want to collect her cell phone, this can prove to investigators who she made calls to and if there were any strange or threatening text messages. Also, it could have finger prints other than Hollyââ¬â¢s. I would investigate the blood that was found at her home to find out if it belonged to Holly. Finally, I would want to obtain the lunch box that was found in the woods. It could provide investigators with finger prints if their were any other than hers. All the evidence would be carefully placed in the right kind of container or bag. Once it is placed in the right container, it would need to be tagged with the time, location, name of the person that collected it; then it is sent off to the lab to be investigated. Once they are done it is sent off for more investigation and it should be labeled with the names of the person sending it off, the time, and location. The primary scene is Hollyââ¬â¢s home from where she was abducted from. This is the primary because it is the main place as to where the abduction occurred. The secondary scene is the woods. This is because this was the place where she was taken to after being abducted from her home. Then, there is another scene that the public or investigators donââ¬â¢t know about yet because there hasnââ¬â¢t been any other evidence leading to another scene. As for the other persons that would be investigated and records obtained from I would also obtain the phone and text messages records from Holly as well. These records would be important because it would tell investigators if there were any unusual phone calls or text messages sent or received from Holly. Also, I would investigate her Facebook and Myspace to find out if there were any unusual things going on through her social network sites. The locard exchange principle can apply to this case if her body has been found mostly. It is possible that other fibers can be found on the duck tape that the hair is stuck to. Also, some could be on the cell phone near the ear piece if the perpetrator used her cell phone. His DNA can possibly be on the ear piece of the phone. If people that Holly knew were ruled out I would suspect that maybe a neighbor that has been stocking her could be a potential perpetrator. It could be anyone that knew her schedule and her parents schedule. Whoever abducted her had to have known that her parents were gone and that she left for school at a certain time. I would document where all the evidence was found, the times it was found, and who found the evidence. I would document all the details that witnesses know about the perpetrator that abducted her. I would find out if anyone in the neighborhood saw a complete stranger just hanging around. If someone saw that then it could be a potential stalker of Holly. I would have of course TBI because it did happen in Tennessee so they would have to be involved in this case. I would also have FBI involved in this case because it is possible that they have traveled out of the Tennessee area. Of course volunteers they can be a big help in trying to find clues that lead to the end of a crime. I would also keep posting it on TV because some things can jog someoneââ¬â¢s memory and that could lead you to your suspect. One possible motive could be that it was someone that wanted to date her and she didnââ¬â¢t want to date them so they wanted to get at her and her boyfriend and cause harm to her. Another could be that it was an ex-boyfriend and she didnââ¬â¢t want to have any contact with him or they ended on bad terms, which could have set him off and caused him to do this to her. Finally, another motive could have been just some random stranger that had been stalking her and knew that she left at a certain time in the morning for school and knew that her parents were gone and didnââ¬â¢t know her brother was still in the house and he could have just wanted to cause harm to her. I think these are viable motives because really it is only possible that someone that knew her schedule could commit this. A theory could be that her ex-boyfriend wanted to still be with her and he knew that she was with someone else and he didnââ¬â¢t like that she was. So he wanted to get back at her. He knew that she was on her way to school so he parked his car on a road behind the woods and when he saw her at her car went and grabbed her and made her come with him. He could have put the duck tape over her mouth and she ripped it off and thatââ¬â¢s when he made her walk to his car. She had the lunch box still in her hand when they went in the woods and he could have made her drop it and then they drove off and went to another location. Another theory could be that a stalker could have just been planning to kidnap and harm this young lady. So he would watch her a lot and see the times her parents and her left and then the morning of April 13th he walked through the woods and went and grabbed her and made her walk through the woods to a car and he took her to another destination. It is possible that maybe her parents owed someone money for something that they were doing on the side and since they werenââ¬â¢t home and they saw that Holly as leaving the house they decided to abduct her and harm her as well. Finally, it is possible that a coworker could have had some kind of beef with her about something and they wanted to come abduct her and take her away from her family. So they watched her throughout a couple of days and figured out the times nobody was home and when she was on her way to school. And when she went out to her car someone jumped out of the woods and grabbed her and took her with them and they are at another location that investigators havenââ¬â¢t discovered yet.

Aldous Huxley s Brave New World - 1564 Words
Envision a world where everybody is happy, there is no sorrow or suffering, no fear of death, no misery, everything is pleasant, and the government doles out happy pills, known as Soma. Aldous Huxleyââ¬â¢s novel ââ¬Å"Brave New Worldâ⬠describes this world. Is everyone truly happy, and what do the citizens sacrifice in exchange for living in this utopia? Huxley helped shape the modern mind with provocative theories about humankind s destiny, and he was concerned with the possible social and moral implications that advances in science and technology could hold. Set in a dystopian London six hundred years into the future, the novel follows future citizens through the ââ¬Å"Brave New World.â⬠The novel is a warning for any religion-deprived, heavilyâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦He prefers to deal with his emotions, even if they are dismal. Offended by frivolous sex, Soma, and the cloned human beings, John, also known as the Savage, is the main character in the novel. Desiring the right to be unhappy and knowing the truth will allow John to experience being human. At the conclusion of the story, he hangs himself to escape the ââ¬Å"Brave New Worldâ⬠(Huxley 152). Helmholtz Watson, another friend of John and Bernardââ¬â¢s, has a shared dislike of the ââ¬Å"World Stateâ⬠and is dissatisfied with his life. Material possessions do not create contentment for these men. In the ââ¬Å"Brave New World,â⬠people remain happy, they acquire everything they desire, never become ill, and they have no fear of death. The citizens have no responsibilities that come with children and relationships (Huxley 128). However, if something should go wrong, there is always Soma to alleviate suffering. In this futuristic society, the world is comprised of the ââ¬Å"World Stateâ⬠and is controlled by a dictatoria l government that provides citizens with a drug called Soma to ensure happiness. Philippine vs. Anglo-Saxons Short Stories - 1239 Words
Ma. Gretchiela G. Gabral R71 Ma. Gretchiela G. Gabral R71 Comparative Analysis of Philippine and Anglo-Saxon Short Stories It could not be denied that the early Philippine short stories in English were influenced by the Anglo-Saxon. The Philippine short stories had evolved from the earlier literature of fables and folk tales and adapted the elements of the short stories of the Anglo-Saxon. The Philippine and Anglo-Saxon short stories were alike in many ways. I found ââ¬Å"Dead Starsâ⬠, the first Philippine short story in English as equally interesting as ââ¬Å"The Stormâ⬠although the pace of the story differed in each. Both stories were able to present thematic ideas with the use of the setting ââ¬Å"stormâ⬠and the symbolism ââ¬Å"dead starsâ⬠. Whileâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦In the ââ¬Å"Wedding Danceâ⬠, it would be helpful to research what tribes still practiced to contemporary times the rituals or traditions featured in the short stories. In the short story ââ¬Å"Bread of Saltâ⬠, it would be help ful to dwell on the connection of the pandesal to the character and the events in the short story and also research on why it was called the bread of salt. The characterââ¬â¢s buying of the padensal with his own money encompassed the idea of the guyââ¬â¢s desire to alleviate himself from the low-class society someday. The Philippine short stories had a balanced proportion of emotions while Anglo-Saxon short stories emphasized a dominant feeling or emotion. ââ¬Å"Tell-Tale Heartâ⬠with its use of single effect was gothic in style in its seemingly arranged procedures of committing a murder. â⬠The Stormâ⬠showcased characters in ecstasy of sexual gratification. In ââ¬Å"What We Talk When We Talk About Loveâ⬠, there was the feeling of disgust in Mel and Terriââ¬â¢s distorted view of love. While obviously in ââ¬Å"Miseryâ⬠, the feeling of grief and helplessness was eminent. On the other hand, Philippine short stories like ââ¬Å"May Day Eveâ⬠, à ¢â¬Å"Magnificentâ⬠and ââ¬Å"Wedding Danceâ⬠had varying emotions. It would take a while before you finally make a judgment or reaction to the short story. In the Anglo-Saxon short stories, there is just a need to connect the events and recognize the obvious. Network Project Management Health Service Program
Question: Discuss about theNetwork Project Management forHealth Service Program. Answer: Introduction This paper provides an analysis of a communication plan adopted by the county health department for its integrated data management system project. The department has for long time been using different data systems for each community health service program. However, the department has now appreciated the importance of having one synchronized data management system for all the community programs that will improve efficiency of the department, in terms of serving the community and responding to any disease breakout that may occur in the community. The communication plan adopted in this project is fairly realistic with an exception of some parts which needs modification. On the part of government agencies it is important that the project manager provide detailed information to them even without being requested because the government is the sole caretaker of the public interest. Therefore it as matter of duty rather than opinion on the part of the project manager to provide the data regarding progress made on the project to all relevant government agencies. There is need to have realistic mode of communication especially when dealing with large group of people. For Example the plan lists calling as part of the method of communicating to employees. This would be challenging, to make calls to all the employees one by one is time consuming and it is not realistic. The plan is effective in listing all stakeholders who needs to be updated on the progress of the program. For example the union may seem a not so important stakeholder bu t it is given the role they play between the management of the health sector and the employees. The plan has incorporated all the major stakeholders from the client, (county health department), senior management, sponsors through to employees, on regular and continuous mode of communication which largely contributes to smooth running of the project. This also promotes the support the project requires especially from the senior management of the county health department. (Hawkins and Haggerty, 2003) Comparing this communication plan and project management practices, we find a number of similarities and differences. On similarities, project management practices have a plan for continuous provision of information to all major stakeholders like the sponsors of the project and the client. This is also the case on this projects communication plan, as it lists the major shareholders for continuous provision of information and minor stakeholders who receives progress reports on inquiry such as the community. On practice, it is time consuming to provide continuous progress report to all stakeholders of the project regardless of being a major or a minor stakeholder, and project managers prefer to segregate stakeholders accordingly to save on time. Most of the public project management communication plans list the government as one of the major stakeholder even if it is not the sponsor of the project. This is due to the fact that the government is the custodian of public interest and must therefore feature prominently on all public projects. This plan however does not have the government on the part of those stakeholders who should be updated with regular and continuous progress report, a departure from the project management practices. The plan also is different to the project management practices as most of the projects have suppliers. Recommended Project Communication Plan CNo. Who; identify who needs to be informed, government, contractors, the public. What; Identify what information to be provided. When; Identify when will the information be provided? How often; How will the information be delivered? Identify who is responsible to providing the information Government agencies Progress on the development of County integrated data management system When a major milestone is reached If no major milestone achieved, progress report should be provide every two weeks Written submissions The project manager Contractor Progress on the development of County integrated data management system Whenever a major milestone is achieved On daily basis On email The project manager The public Progress on the development of County integrated data management system After every one month Public forums Assistant project manager Unions That the project being commenced will not affect job opportunities for it members e.g. retrenchment. Once at the beginning of the project _ Written submission Project manager Senior management Progress on the development of County integrated data management system Whenever a major milestone is achieved If no major milestone achieved, progress report should be provided weekly email Project manger Project team members Progress on the development of County integrated data management system Daily basis Daily basis email Project manager Justification I propose that on top of listing all the stakeholders that need to be updated on the progress of the project as well as what information to be provided and how will it be provide, it is important that the communication plan indicates who is going to provide the information and to who. This will provide clear roles and mandate on the project communication plan. It also helps incase such information are not provided then it clear who should be asked to provide the information. (Campbell, 2009) It also important that whenever a milestone is achieved in the project, major stakeholders such as contractor and the client be informed promptly so that in case they have any issues regarding the milestone then the issue can be addressed early enough before the project progresses further and to a point where effecting the would-be changes becomes challenging and requires major redesigning to be made. (Campbell, 2009) Conclusion In conclusion, given that the government is the public sole trustee, It is important that the communication plan fro the county health departments integrate data management system, lists the government has a major stakeholder that needs progress update on continuous and regular basis. It is also important that the communication indicates who is responsible for communicating what information to who as this promotes efficient communication throughout the project development. The theme of fate in Romeo and Juliet Essays -
The theme of fate in Romeo and Juliet Romeo and Juliet - Fate From the outset of the play the chorus calls Romeo and Juliet "star-crossed lovers" and the frequent foreshadowing of fate creates the sense that destiny shall claim superiority. All events surrounding the lovers such as: the feud between the two families, the horrible series of accidents that ruin Friar's well-intentioned plans, the tragic timing of Romeo's suicide and Juliet's awakening all work in the hands of fate. These events also contribute to the outcome of the young lovers death. Even though Romeo and Juliet were helpless victims of fate, they were also agents of fate. This is evident after Romeo kills Tybalt he reacts by saying: "O I am fortunes fool" yet it is due to Romeo's impetuous nature that led to this calamity. Again, Romeo exhibits this weakness before going to the Capulet feast he says: "Some consequence yet hanging in the stars, Shall bitterly begin this fearful date...by some vile forfeit of untimely death..." We see Juliet's acceptance to the fact that the heavens are against Romeo and Juliet's relationship when Capulet forces her to marry Paris, she says: "Is there no piety sitting in the clouds that sees into the bottom of my grief?" This is also evident when the nurse betrays Juliet, she cries: "Alack...heaven practice stratagems upon so soft a subject as myself." The generation gap between Romeo and Juliet and their parents is one of the chief functions leading to the tragedy. This is observed when Juliet refuses to marry Paris, Capulet insults her by calling her "green sickness carrion!" Romeo and Juliet could not confide in their parents about their love. We see this in the opening of the play, Montague finds it difficult to understand Romeo and he tells Benvolio: "both by myself and many other friends. His own affections counsel are to himself." The powerful nature of Romeo and Juliet's love is also a prime factor that leads to the tragedy. This is evident at the feast when Tybalt sees Romeo, he is determined to kill him as Romeo sees Juliet and instantly falls in love with her. From this point in the play love and violence parallel each other. Romeo and Juliet's love is of an intense passion that love supersedes all other values. Romeo and Juliet are driven to defy their families by this overpowering force. We are reminded of Juliet's words: "deny thy father and refuse thy name / And I'll no longer be a Capulet." even Friar Lawrence warns Romeo against his immoderate love: "these violent delights have violent ends. Love moderately." Romeo and Juliet's extreme and boundless love was of such a great nature that it could only be preserved by death. Hastiness is also the main contributor to this tragedy. From the first moment that Romeo and Juliet meet they act hastily, they do not take the time to get to know one another but rush into their relationship. They are too hasty to get married, they did not think about what could go wrong. Juliet realizes this when Romeo declares his love to her, she says: "It is too rash, too unadvised, too like lightening." Friar Lawrence is guilty of hastiness even though he resembles forces of reason and moderation when he marries Romeo and Juliet. When Friar is running to the Capulet tomb, he does not heed his own advice: "wisely and slow, they stumble that run fast." Fear is also responsible for this tragedy. This is illustrated when Friar Lawrence leaves the tomb giving Juliet the opportunity to kill herself. The nurse also betrays Juliet because she is afraid of being implicated in the marriage between Romeo and Juliet. The lack of communication between Romeo and Juliet and their parents is the reason that they cannot confide in their parents and thus turn to Friar Lawrence. Romeo and Juliet's relationship had to be a secret; they had to resort to subterfuge in order to meet due to their family feud. When Romeo is banished from Verona, this creates greater problems of communication between the lovers. It was due to the letter that remained undelivered that Romeo believes that Juliet is dead.
